Avery

I just wanted to thank Good Karma for all the excellent work you all do. We adopted Avery a month ago and it has been such a wonderful adventure. He was so shy and timid at first and he has blossomed into such a happy and loving puppy. He is excelling in obedience class and is going to continue on to do some agility classes next! He loves the dog park and sleeping on the couch and has become quite a mama's boy. I want to give a special thank you to Avery's Good Karma mom's Stacy and Sherry for all they have done for him and for helping bring him into our lives. Thank you! Meghan, Scott, and Avery

Apache

Hi Teal & Alyssa, Just wanted to share some good news with you. With the winter months settling in and us getting into a real routine around the house, Apache has finally come out of her shell. I loved her on first site, but with her real personality finally emerging she is even better. Just in the past two weeks, she has begun "talking" to me like the husky will. When she wants the chair I'm sitting in for herself, wants a cookie, or is just happy & excited, she tells me with her voice. She has finally begun barking outside at things she heas or sees but that is still really rare. She is silent for the most part outside. She tries to cuddle with me more, actually initiating the interaction, rather than me cuddling with her. I don't think she was ever really cuddled with. She doesn't seem to know what to do with her legs (always pushing against me) or her bum. Her head cuddles but the rest of her was on guard. She is finally learning what to do, and last week actually allowed herself to fall backwards, all four legs in the air, onto me on the bed, and stayed in that position while I was petting her. This I really appreciated and absolutely loved!!!! She always loved belly rubs but never allowed her whole body to just relax and fall backwards. Just thought you'd like to hear about this development. I was absolutely ok with her being guarded as she did play a lot and give lots and lots of love, but it was obvious she was holding back or just didn't know any different. I'm expecting from this point on it will just keep getting better and better. I keep her with me or the kids 24/7 (I work evenings so they stay with her when I work) as she does have significant seperation anxiety. She never barks or cries, just eats things. Like, my bed pillows. I'm adding some pictures for you, one is of the husky at my daughters that is her boyfriend. Although they are both fixed, the are "together", as well as Sultan, but he's more like a brother to her. Thank you again for this wonderful girl and Happy New Year to you both!!!
