Ginger
Hi Teal,
I just wanted to let you know that Ginger is doing very well. She is such a sweet girl and loves to snuggle. She is also very smart and understands commands very easily.

Hi Teal, I have been wanting to send you a note for ages upon ages to let you know how happy Lucie is here and how well she gets along with Nellie, her "sister".
She is a little dog, compared to the labs we have had, but big enough to handle playing tackle with Nellie, which they do everydaY! She is here on our farm, rarely gets "tied up", and is just a delight.
I took this picture last winter sometime and have wanted to send it to you because I think it illustrates how well she has integrated with the family...Nellie is the boss, and Lucie is happy following her lead. She would truly be lost without her. Lucie has bonded to me, but is far more independent than any dog I have had. Home is where she wants to be and we are all enjoying each other.
Take care and have a good Thanksgiving...

Cora
Update: Cora passed the test ( with flying colors) and is now a Therapy dog!!
Happy to report Cora is doing really well. She took her first therapy dog
training class this past sunday and the wheelchairs, oddly dressed
strangers, 9 other dogs, noises and distractions didn't rattle her much at
all. She loved the attention from our testing team, and passsed the
temperament screening with flying colors. And, her obedience training is
coming along! I think we should be ready for certification this summer,
possibly late spring.
She's a real love and we're so happy she's part of our family. She seems
to be settled in--she's not in her crate anymore when we're gone at work
(and MOST times, nothing is disturbed in the house!), she's been getting
more off leash priveldges as her recall becomes reliable, she goes
everywhere with us happily (but loves to come home and climb on the couch),
and seems generally comfortable with life here.

Maverick
Everything is going really well. We recently finished the beginner
session of obedience training. Maverick is fantastic at his sits and
downs. He's getting better and better at stay, come when call, and
crawl. I've seen a huge improvement when he meets new people, he
doesn't pee and rarely jumps. We've learned Maverick loves to dig, but
he's such a smart dog only digging in under the deck, behind the shed,
or in the sandbox. During the heat wave we took Maverick swimming in
the lake. We think it may have been his first time swimming because he
was very awkward. I think he liked it once he got used to it. On the
4th of July we went to a party with about 30 people and 10 dogs!!
Maverick had a blast. He ran around with his new friends all day. He'd
come when we called him and sometimes just came to check in on us on
his own. The cats are doing well with Maverick, too. They're finally
used to the new family member and give Maverick "kisses" instead of
hisses and swats.
We are very happy to have Maverick in our family.
